Loft windows

Loft windows are the ideal solution to provide ventilation and light for living spaces created in the attic. Faelux deals with the design and production of windows for lofts and roofs.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE SIZE AND TYPE OF WINDOW

For roofs with a low pitch it is advisable to fit longer windows, this allows to obtain a better view and to avoid bumping with the top.

When the pitch increases, also the view increases thus allowing to install smaller windows. The choice of a rectangular or square pattern is a function of the shape of the attic: if the attic is wide it is recommended to install a wide window.

E.g.: 134 cm x 98 - 114 x 78

A long window is preferable when the attic is long and narrow.

E.g.: 78 cm x 140 - 94 x 160

It's very important to remember that for good operation and view, the top of the window must be 180 - 200 cm from the floor. To obtain a homogeneous distribution of the light, it is recommended to place the window in a central position.

For areas larger than 20 square metres, it is advisable to use multiple windows for better light distribution and adequate ventilation.

PREPARING THE OPENING

To get a good result from the installation of the window it is neccessary to consider some important factors during the project.

PREPARING THE OPENING

Minimum height of the window bottom 110 cm. Minimum height of the window top 180.

It is advisable to carry out an oblique cut perpendicular to the floor at the bottom and parallel to the floor at the top. This way there will be greater passage of light, increased ventilation on the glass and reduced condensation.

In addition, you will have a greater propagation of heat in the environment and near the window, eliminating fogging effects on the glass.
